Who's Left?

The early signing period for college Division 1 programs closed earlier this month. While over 20 NJ Hoopers from the Class of 2012 made commitments there are still quite a few good prospects still available.


One of the 5 NJ Hoops Top Available seniors (ranked among the top 20 in the class) is Newark East Side Aaron Bodie.

La Roche Player of Week

La Roche men’s basketball guard, Andre Flanigan, has been named the La Roche Player of the Week for the week of November 28, 2011.
Last week, Andre led the Redhawks in scoring, assists, and steals as La Roche went 1-1. Andre recorded 8 points and 4 rebounds in a 71-66 loss to St. Vincent and 17 points, 11 assists, 7 steals, and 6 rebounds in an 84-69 win over Geneva.
Andre is a 2010 graduate of East Side High School (Newark, NJ).

Chandler Named Nov. 21 Pioneer of the Week

WAYNE, N.J. – Men's basketball junior guard Corey Chandler (Newark, N.J./Newark East Side)



Chandler was selected as the Stevens Tip-Off Tournament MVP, and in three victories last week he averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.7 steals per contest. He posted 17 points and three assists during a 72-61 season-opening victory Nov. 15 against York (N.Y.), shooing 6-for-12 from the floor. Chandler led WP with 21 points, six assists and three steals during an 82-66 win Nov. 18 against King's in the first round of the Stevens Tip-Off Tournament, and he had a double-double with 28 points and a game-best 11 assists, adding eight rebounds and five steals in a 112-107 triple-overtime victory against the host Ducks Nov. 19 in the championship game.
